The Amazonian lily has globular bulbs covered with gray-brown scales, reaching 5 cm in diameter. Dark green glossy leaves grow on thin stems and have a wide oval shape. In width, the leaves reach 15 cm, and the petioles grow up to 30 cm in length. A groove runs along the center of the sheet, protruding from the bottom as a dense roller, and across the sheet there are clearly visible veins, which give the sheet a roughness to the touch.
